McCullough Mulvin wins international design competition for NAMTECH Higher Education Campus

McCullough Mulvin Architects, in collaboration with DesignPlus Architecture and Arup, are delighted to be announced as winners of the international competition to design a new higher education campus for NAMTECH (New Age Makers’ Institute of Technology). The winning design concept is for a holistic, sustainable and nature-focused campus on a 133 acre site west of Ahmedabad in Gujurat, India. The masterplan will deliver 6,000,000sqft of laboratories, lecture theatres, library, accommodation for staff & students, sports and wellness facilities over a series of phases, in a forest campus setting to inspire innovation for 15,000 students across a range of experiential engineering programs.
NAMTECH is a world class institute dedicated to higher education in manufacturing, engineering and technology that bridges the gap between academia and industry. As a globally competitive institute with ambition for placing ecological sensitivity, inclusivity and knowledge at the heart of campus life, this will be a world class centre of excellence bringing together the principles of ecology, learning and innovation.
The winning design team, based in Dublin and Delhi, have previously worked together on the award-winning campus for Thapar Institute of Technology at Patiala in Punjab, India. We are delighted to be working together in India again on such an exciting and ambitious project for NAMTECH.
